COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES
All commercial buildings must go through Worth Townships third party inspection agency, MDIA. Although Worth Township does not have a zoning ordinance in place the Township does have a Sub-Division/ Land Development ordinance. The Land Development ordinance is for those wanting to develop their land for commercial use or to subdivide property for residential homes. Any person wanting to develop land for such purpose must meet with the Worth Township Planning Commission at their regular meeting to discuss the plans. The Planning Commission will walk you through each step of the process of subdividing or developing your land.
If you already have a building on your property and would like to convert the building for commercial use, you are still required to adhere to the Land Development ordinance and must go through the Planning Commission. You must also have all improvements to the building inspected by MDIA, Department of Labor and Industry and upgrade the building to meet ADA requirements.
