LIFE Butler County is designed as an innovative alternative to nursing home care. The program enables qualified individuals age 55 and over to remain at home, promoting their health, independence and dignity. LIFE Butler County is a partnership of Lutheran SeniorLife and Butler Health System and is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

The program offers a range of medical, health, and social services. The LIFE Butler County Day Center is a convenient location to receive many of LIFE’s services. At the LIFE Center, participants may receive physician and nursing care, medication management, rehabilitative therapies, recreational activities, educational programs, personal care, meals, snacks and other services in one location. In-home care may include nursing, personal care, supplies, housekeeping and other services based on individual need. Referral services include medical specialists, laboratory and other diagnostic tests. Care continues to be managed across all settings, including hospital and nursing home stays. Transportation is provided to and from the Center and to other medical specialists arranged by LIFE.

There are no co-pays for any of these services for qualified individuals while living in their home settings.
