Winter Tree ID – Friday, December 8, 2023

1:00 PM to 3:00 PM – Kildoo Picnic Area, McConnells Mill State Park

Which tree is that? Enrich your enjoyment of nature by learning the basics of tree identification in the winter. What trees are best for your backyard?  Join DCNR staff for a guided walk through the grassy areas adjoining the picnic grounds, visiting a variety of trees, and using forestry techniques and tools. Branching, bark, last year’s leaves, all help budding tree detectives track down the clues. Dress for the weather, snow, or shine (severe or dangerous weather automatically cancels event) and bring a drink or snack and a desire to learn. All ages welcome, family friendly. Meet at Kildoo Pavilion.
